COURSE OVERVIEW

ROVs are widely used in the oil and gas, and marine sectors to accomplish tasks in underwater environments that are often too deep or too dangerous for human divers. ROVs are nothing without their pilots. An ROV pilot technician handles the operation, maintenance, and repair of an ROV and its system.
NMUC’s ROV Pilot Technician course is a comprehensive training program designed to cultivate skillful, competent, and market ready future ROV pilot technicians. The course is structured to blend theory with hands-on exercises, emphasizing practical training elements. It encompasses all the skills required by the industry and meets IMCA requirements.

After attending this programme, participants will be able to perform the following:

As this is an introductory course which qualifies the successful participants to enter training as ROV Pilot/Technician Grade II (R04) or ROV Tooling Technician Grade II (R14), as set out in IMCA C005 Competence assurance and assessment: Remote System & ROV Division, refresher course are not considered necessary.

COURSE OUTLINE

Twenty days(20) of classroom-based theoretical, practical, and simulator training, excluding high-voltage fiber optics.

– This course is specifically designed for individuals new to the ROV industry, aligning with IMCA standards.
– Candidates should possess a suitable technical background, which may include relevant qualifications and/or experience.
-Technical qualifications and proficiency in electronics, electrical engineering, mechanics, or hydraulics are preferred.
– A strong command of both spoken and written English is essential.
